A nonprofit organization

The mission of the Virginia Piedmont Heritage Area Association is to educate about the history and advocate for the preservation of the extraordinary historic landscape, culture, and scenery in the Northern Virginia Piedmont for future generations to enjoy.

More About Us

The Virginia Piedmont Heritage Area sends educators in to schools to engage students in the local history that is all around them. In the past, VPHA  has visited with 4,000 to 5,000 students each school year and has reached a grand total of 50,000 students since beginning programming in 2004.

Testimonials

A visit from VPHA has become an integral part of our 4th grade curriculum. Many of our students have talked about going to some of the sites on your scavenger hunt over summer break with their families.
