Camp Shenandoah Springs Inc

Camp Shenandoah Springs, Inc. is an historical farm in the beautiful piedmont region of Madison County Virginia. This majestic place was discovered in 1981 by C. Douglas Farmer after dreaming as a 19 year old camp counselor that he would one day have a camp that would reach children of all ages to understand their purpose in life by learning all about camping and the outdoors. After 43 years of camping at this place, the camp has been turned over to be a non-profit so that the legacy of Mr. Farmer can continue to the next generation of outdoor adventurers. Young folks from all over the globe come here to experience the creative ways of exploration, navigation and just simply being children in the outdoors. They learn 'face-to-face' interaction, team building skills, coping skills, and overcome fears and anxieties that this world seems to fill them with. They meet lifelong friends and are encouraged to be all they can dream of being for the good of mankind. The heart of Camp Shenandoah Springs is to make everyone feel welcome and help them know that their lives have purpose and meaning and that we are so excited  and honored to be part of their journey.
